The Woodlands Recreation Center (WRC) and Tai Chi Martial Arts (TCMA) will be hosting the 13 Annual World Tai Chi and Qigong Day (WTCQD) in The Woodlands.
WTCQD is a worldwide event involving 70 countries and all 50 states. The purpose of this event is to introduce the general public to the health benefits of tai chi and traditional Chinese medicine. In addition, it is a chance for tai chi students from different schools to come together in a cooperative event and share different aspects of tai chi.
This event will be held on April 28, 2011 at Rob Fleming Park in The Woodlands. It will begin at 9:00 AM and will last until 12:00 PM. The general public is invited to watch tai chi demonstrations by local schools and to participate in the WTCQD activities, including free tai chi and qigong workshops and group qigong breathing.
The public will also have the chance to join in a group tai chi demonstration with the participating organizations.
This is a free event for both participating schools and the public. Each participating school will be mentioned during the announcements and listed on our website. Participating schools will also have an opportunity to be apart of the showcase demonstration. There are a limited number of slots available so please contact us early.
Last year’s event was attended by over 80 practitioners from 12 schools. One attendee was from Austin, Texas and another was from Seattle Washington. This year we hope to have 100 people.
